Saturday, May 1st
9:00AM – 1:00PM
Ilia Fehrer Nature Preserve (GPS location of event: 38.31239, -75.15913)
Come join Maryland Coastal Bays Program for a fun day looking for amphibian and reptile (herp) species! MCBP will be conducting a scientific survey to learn more about the herps that inhabit our watershed. This survey will require a small amount of homework as volunteers will be asked to review the survey protocol and be given some resources to browse before the survey date. If you are interested in learning more about the herps living in our watershed, want to spend a few hours outside in a beautiful, forested wetland area, or just love to have fun with your community members- this is the volunteer event you’ve been waiting for! MCBP will provide all volunteers with the necessary gear to conduct the survey. They ask that you bring a reusable water bottle, boots or close-toed shoes that can get muddy, and wear appropriate clothing. MCBP are hoping to recruit at least 40 – 50 volunteers for this survey so bring a friend or family member along with you and help us spread the news of this exciting opportunity! The survey will be taking place at the Ilia Fehrer Nature Preserve.
