The Beach to Bay Heritage Area (BBHA) is one of thirteen state-certified heritage areas which aims to to preserve, protect and promote the cultural, natural and historical heritage of Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties.
Our heritage area is packed full of heritage places to visit and explore. Countless historical sites and markers help tell our history here. On top of that we have several other attractions that contribute to our Shore culture. Restaurants, Farmers Markets, and Distilleries help define Shore life and are popular ways to savor our cuisine.

Originally built around 1870, Glass Hill School served as an African American single room school house. It was originally situated on Glass Hill Road across from the Calvary M.E. Church. In the early 1980s the school was moved to Maple Street where it now sits next to the old Passenger Station.
