Overview:
The first, at 56’, was completed in 1885. The second was completed in 1926 after earlier structures failed. It was built on the ocean end of the outer Delaware Breakwater at the mouth of the Delaware Bay, just off Cape Henlopen. The 62’ structure was built to function with the East End Light in order to mark the National Harbor of Refuge.
