Join Lower Shore Land Trust on Saturday, November 8th from 3-6pm for the 9th Annual Flannel Formal, the well-known and loved celebration of land conservation held this year at the Cellar House Farm in Pocomoke City, Maryland. You will love this venue and its rich history: legends of privateering, ghosts, underground tunnels and a murder mystery, inviting intrigue and curiosity to all who enter. We can’t wait for you to see the place!
This year we are commemorating our 35th Anniversary by honoring one of our founders, King Burnett, with the esteemed Stephen N. Parker Conservation Legacy Award. This award is presented annually to recognize a landowner or conservation practitioner for their contributions to private land conservation on the Lower Eastern Shore. Burnett has been a lifelong champion of land conservation, serving in multiple organizations, and was essential to the solidarity of the Delmarva Peninsula environmentalist movement. Past recipients include Charles “Buddy” Jenkins, Larry Leese, John B. Long, Hugh Cropper IV, and Ann G. Carlson.
You’re invited to wear your favorite flannel, dressy or casual, to celebrate the season. This year’s musical entertainment will come to you via the accomplished Baltimore/DC/Annapolis act, the Seth Mitchell Band, performing a variety of originals and covers of Bluegrass and Americana, along with other genres, sure to please all palates and get toes tappin’.
