Earth science or geoscience is an all-embracing term referring to the fields of science dealing with planet Earth. Earth science has many branches: Scientists study the atmosphere or air around earth. They work to understand the water household, clouds and how to
predict weather. Others study the rocks and soil types, and some work to understand what lives on Earth.
In this class you can learn about powerful geological and weather events such as volcanic eruptions,
earthquakes, tornadoes, and Earth’s magnetic field through many hands-on experiments. The recommended
kids’ age is 4 to 13 years. Please note that this is not a drop-off class. Parents/guardians are invited to
participate together with their kids.
Number of spaces available: No Limit! Please sign up for the event by clicking here, or
by calling the Assateague Coastal Trust office at 410-629-1538. Leave a message with your name,
phone number, and number of participating kids. The event is free for Coast Kids members and nonmembers.
