Please join us at the Lower Eastern Shore Heritage Area Council for our 2019 Annual Luncheon and Heritage Awards on Wednesday May 15 at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, Flanders Room. We will be honoring 7 new Heritage Award winners during our program. Featured as well will be wonderful mini grant projects exhibits with representatives from Awardees organizations. We are honored and excited to present as this years Keynote Speaker, retired National Archives-Mid Atlantic Region Director Kellee Blake as she shares funny, astonishing, and heartbreaking stories from her long coast-to-coast career as a Federal archivist. Mrs. Blake’s amazing encounters with genealogists, journalists, even presidents, will entertain and inspire with truths far better than fiction!
Ms. Blake received her Masters from Villanova University. She not only served as Director, National Archives-Mid Atlantic Region (Philadelphia, PA) but prior to that worked as Assistant Director/Archivist, Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library (Ann Arbor, MI), National Archives-Great Lakes Region (Chicago, IL), National Archives-Pacific Southwest Region (Laguna Niguel, CA)
She holds a distinguished list of publications, honors and accomplishments including Phi Alpha Theta, Alpha Phi Sigma, Alpha Psi Omega, Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities (1983 edition), Intermediate/Departmental/Final Honors at Mary Washington College, Mary Washington College Regional Scholar, Graduate Assistantship (Villanova University), Daniel B. Carroll Prize for Graduate Writing in American History (Villanova University), Phi Alpha Theta Scholarship (Graduate study), Archivist’s Achievement Award (National Archives), Lincoln Legal Eagle Award (Lincoln Legal Project in Springfield, IL), Excellence in Preservation Award (Lower Makefield Township), Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania (Board), Crossing Legacy Foundation (Board), Lower Makefield Township Historical Society (President/Board), Church Executive Council (Washington Crossing United Methodist Church), Speaker/Teacher Eastern Conference of Pennsylvania UMC.

Doors open at 10:15am. Program starts promptly at 11am. The event will take place at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center Flanders Room in Salisbury,MD 21801
Early bird luncheon reservation pricing is $30 per person until April 30. Rate increases to $35 on May 1st. Deadline for general seating reservations is May 10. All Reserved Tickets are non-refundable and will be considered donation to LESHC.
