Please join the Maryland History and Culture Collaborative’s Spring virtual meeting on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 10 am – 12 pm, focused on establishing and improving relations with Maryland’s Indigenous communities. Learn ways to collaborate and support Indigenous tribes, communities, and organizations with their efforts to curate, preserve, educate, and make accessible Indigenous culture and history.
This open discussion will be led by Virginia Busby, Ph.D. with presenters
including speakers from the Pocomoke Indian Nation, the Accohannock Tribe,
the Assateague Tribe with co-presenter Aaron Levinthal – Racklifee House
board member, and Dr. Dennis Seymour, Director of the Baltimore American
Indian Center Museum. Maryland’s Assistant State Archivist, Corey Lewis, will
round out the agenda by introducing a statewide initiative that the
Maryland State Archives is leading to match local heritage and community
organizations with partners and resource-providers at regional archives and
libraries.
