Event Details:
Event is FREE, however registration is required to allow us to properly plan for the event. You are encouraged to bring your own boat. Â The park has a limited number of rental boats available on a first-come, first-served basis. You may also consider making arrangements in advance with a local vendor offering a variety of single and tandem kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. Â Multi-day reservations may also be made in advance.
For experienced paddlers, there will be a “Janes Island Challenge”.  This challenge consists of a 13-mile paddle, circumnavigating Janes Island.  It is not a race and for non-motorized vessels only. Registration is required to participate to receive the challenge completion token. (Note- This challenge is weather dependent and not recommended for novice paddlers due to open water and swift currents)

Activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 7th, 2025. (There is no rain date in the event of inclement weather) Anyone who wishes to camp at Janes Island State Park, reservations can be made online at parkreservations.maryland.gov or by calling 1-888-432-2267.
