Purple Passion – Hummingbird Watercolor Class

Join watercolor artist Leo Kahl in depicting a colorful regional hummingbird as it visits a vivid purple Columbine flower.

Supplies:

1. Watercolor Classes • Kleenex • Soft Lead Pencil • Small Water Mister • Water Pail • Corrugated Plastic Backing Board (Cut to 17” x 24”) White or Black (Home Depot or Lowes) • Regular beige masking tape • Electric Hair Dryer • Large Pallet Paper: ( High quality paper, such as Arches, rough texture will produce best results but is not absolutely necessary ). 11 x 14 sheets (Qty. 6) Watercolor blocks are a good choice Brushes: Several Large “soft” mop type brushes or flats, several medium sized “rounds” and some small detail brushes. A long haired ”rigger” is also a good brush to have. Paint: Either watercolor tube or cake style. A modest set of 16 hues will suffice. Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Ultramarine blue, Cobalt Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Viridian, Neutral tint, Cad Yellow, Cad Orange, Cad red. ( Cadmium colors are being replaced by Pyrol Hues ) Chinese White, titanium white
