Her works include – Watercolors, ink, photography, clay, woodworking and so much more! Please join us from 3pm – 5pm at the Corbin! Light refreshments will be served. The exhibit will be on display from March 7th through March 28th.
Winnie Pruitt, born February 21st, 1938, has spent most of her life in Crisfield, MD, except while traveling as a military wife from 1955 to 1968. Married to Eugie Pruitt for 70 years, she began drawing at age 12, initially using pencil due to limited resources. As an adult, Winnie taught herself various mediums including oils, watercolors, ink, photography, clay, crushed eggshells, tole painting, lifelike newborn dolls, wood carving, and more. She acquired her first saw in 1970, overcoming her fear and excelling at woodwork projects like cradles and Christmas figures. After purchasing and restoring the Stevens Home in 1968, she decorated it with her own colonial and oriental-inspired art. While working night shifts as an RN, she continued creating art featuring family and local scenery. Winnie also restores clocks, filling her home with them. For her 88th birthday, she simply requested a piece of plywood for a new idea.
