Event Details:
The Rotary Club of Snow Hill will host the next Holiday House Tour on December 14, 2024 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.
The last tour was held in 2021 and included beautiful historic homes decorated for the holidays in all their unique splendor. In addition to the featured homes, the tour included two National Registry listed historic churches.Â
All proceeds from the Holiday House Tour go to the Snow Hill Rotary Scholarship Programs.
There are 9 historic homes and two National Register churches on the tour.
Tickets are $35.00 ($30.00 if you call Jan King early 240-793-2500) and can be purchased online (snowhillrotary.org) or at Makemie Church the day of the tour.

- The Samuel Gunn House ca 1780 – National Register of Historic Places
- Cherrystone ca 1790 / 1820
- McKimmey Porter House ca 1805 (Total multi-year restoration)
- Benson Morris House ca 1830
- Samuel Richardson House ca 1830 (recent exterior restoration and addition)
- George Washington Purnell House ca 1860 – National Register of Historic Places
- George Washington Covington House 1878
- Governor John Walter Smith House 1889-1890 – National Register of Historic Places (One of the most distinctive and elaborate Queen Ann homes in the mid-Atlantic.
- The Geesey/Fooks Home – 1910 – magnificent Arts and Craft home
Churches:
- All Hallows Episcopal Church – 1748-1756 – National Register of Historic Places (original church established in 1692)
- Makemie Memorial Presbyterian Church – 1888-1889 – National Register of Historic Places (Is considered to be the first Presbyterian church in America – original church established ca 1690)
