Hattie’s Trail is a walking trail honoring Black history here on Delmarva. The trail is located in the vicinity of the site of Buffalo Soldier Thomas E. Polk Sr. and Harriet B. “Hattie” Polk’s homestead in Eden. The trail is part of a larger ongoing project to educate the community about, and honor the Buffalo Soldiers that continued to serve in the segregated military after the Civil War. Future plans include the addition of a welcome center (to be named the Thomas Polk Senior Buffalo Soldier Outpost).
Parking is free and there is no admission fee.
