Salisbury University’s Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts hosts the “Film at Fulton” film series 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month during the spring semester in the Herman van Apeldoorn Film Center, Fulton Hall Room 111. This series fosters the collective viewing and discussion of exciting films on campus. Each film is chosen for its artistic and thematic resonance and is followed by a panel discussion featuring experts and enthusiasts. Tulpan is showing April 3. Winner of the Prix Un Certain Regard at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, acclaimed Kazakh documentarian Sergey Dvortsevoy’s first narrative feature is a mélange of tender comedy, ethnographic drama and wildlife extravaganza. Young dreamer Asa returns to his sister’s nomadic brood on the desolate Hunger Steppe to begin a hardscrabble career as a shepherd. Before he can tend a flock of his own, however, he must win the hand of the only eligible bachelorette for miles – his alluringly mysterious neighbor, Tulpan. For more information call 410-543-6229.
