Salisbury University welcomes preeminent scholars of Asian history to discuss thought-provoking studies of imperialism in Asia. Each visiting scholar gives a talk on their area of expertise, followed by a moderated discussion making interdisciplinary and transnational connections, as we consider re-evaluating the global history of the foundational and troubling phenomenon of imperialism that still has repercussions today. Neilesh Bose, Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair, Global and Comparative History at University of Victoria presents “Making Religion Anew: Reform, Empire and Power in 19th Century India” 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, in Conway Hall Room 153.
