Preservation Maryland, the Baltimore Community Archaeology Lab (BCAL) at Towson University, and the Native American Liaison Committee of the Council for Maryland Archeology (CfMA) are again sponsoring the Summit, focused on building understanding and identifying best practices among communities who greatly value Maryland’s heritage and culture and who want to establish good relations and practices to support mutual preservation priorities, access, and knowledge sharing.
This year’s highlights include:
Symposium on Indigenous Education Outreach – with contributions from the Pocomoke and Piscataway Conoy
MHT presentation on how to find publicly accessible archaeological information
Panel of State Historic Preservation Office representatives from other states who consult with non-Federal tribes
