Reception & Artist Talk on February 9th at 4:30PM
Mosely Gallery, The University of Maryland Eastern Shore
Jason Patterson’s research-based practice focuses on Black history and the role of the past in cultivating present political and social in American society. Interpreting archival images, artifacts, and multitudinous narratives through virtuosic figuration, Patterson unearths, underlines and reinvents primary historical sources, making them radically-honest retellings that uncover the vestiges of this country’s segregated past.
The opening reception with the artist will be held on February 9th at 4:30PM.
